Boris Jurkovic's back was bothering him before Saturday's opening night late-model feature at Illiana Speedway. He sure felt pretty good in front after it was all over, though.

The former track champion was lightning fast during a main event that was run with raindrops falling out of the sky.
The battle for the limited late-model feature laurels Saturday night at Illiana Speedway came down to a choice. Anthony Danta made the right one. It paid off in his first victory of the 2008 season.

With a light rain falling and the white flag about to drop, leader John Nutley was a bumper ahead of Danta as they roared into Turn 4.
Three feature races, three second-place finishes.

Eddie Hoffman wasn't about to make it 4-for-4 during Saturday night's late-model feature at Illiana Speedway.
Jack Kalwasinski made a little bit of history Saturday night at Illiana Speedway, winning the first late-model feature of his career.

Although his wife Jerilynn, his dad Stan, and his car owner Nick Trgovich were at the top of his thank-you list, there were several other names mentioned during his post-race thoughts.

Mike Monroe and John Nutley could say the same thing Saturday night at Illiana Speedway. Both were pretty much settling in for second-place finishes in their respective feature races, only to have the leaders suffer mechanical difficulties just moments from the checkered flag.
